Talent Mapping & Succession Planning Case Study
The Challenge
To support succession planning within this substantial firm’s global audit function, a new international leadership hire was planned, with the intention being that the firm’s internal Talent Acquisition team would lead the recruitment process, publicly advertising the role as a starting point. In order to provide assurance that the best possible candidates were being considered, Halsey Keetch was engaged once initial responses had been received to undertake a thorough talent mapping exercise covering this population, ranging from established global and function leaders through to the full range of emerging talent at mid-senior levels.
The Solution
Combining rigorous research with existing market knowledge and soundings from well-placed contacts, we collated our findings and recommendations into a readable and digestible map of the available talent market; this was then used by the hiring manager and the talent acquisition team to directly engage with a number of interesting candidates.
The Outcome
The research and context provided enabled the talent acquisition team to carry out their work as planned, resulting in an outstanding leadership-calibre hire, directly executed, negotiated, and secured, thereby reducing the cost of the overall exercise.
