Board-Level Search Case Study
Our client is a US$80 billion AUM asset management group specialising in global fixed income, owned by a major North American financial institution’s wealth and investment management division.
The Challenge
To address a diversity issue on the all-male board of this highly regarded specialist asset management business owned by a North American banking group, a female Remuneration Committee Chair with a unique blend of experience was sought to replace a long-serving male incumbent. This new appointment needed to be capable of building relationships with both hedge fund industry professionals and representatives of the parent company, whilst also mastering the complexity of the issues involved in chairing this particular committee.
The Solution
Leveraging our broad network at board level and relationships with diversity-focused industry groups, we produced an all-female shortlist of eight high-potential candidates in order to be sure of addressing the gender diversity issue at hand.
The Outcome
The recently retired global banking HR leader with a fixed income background whom we placed in the role has been hugely successful, thanks to her industry experience and varied disciplinary expertise. She has brought a variety of new perspectives to the boardroom as the business has been through a process of significant change, whilst also asserting mastery over the management of the Remuneration Committee.
